Part "P" Building RegulationsElectrical Installations Statistics compiled by the government indicate that defective fixed electrical installations in UK households cause around 30 deaths and over 1,250 serious injuries every year. To address this issue and the fact that the electrical industry is unregulated, the government has created new Building Regulations.
From January 1st 2005 Electrical installations must be carried out by certified personnel. MG Fowkes is fully qualified to ensure that these standards are met at that all work undertaken by our engineers and installers complies in full with the new regulations. MG Fowkes are members of the Gas Safety Register. The main aim of all building regulations is to protect people by ensuring that the buildings around them are properly designed and safely built. Regulations also cover issues like energy conservation and disabled access. Building regulations can apply both to new buildings and to work done on existing buildings. You must make sure that all work your business does conforms where applicable to the relevant building regulations. It is a legal requirement that you obtain building control approval for this work.
